A Garden City firefighting museum raised nearly $80,000 for fire safety at a fundraising dinner, organizers said yesterday.
About 600 people attended Friday's dinner at the Francis X. Pendl Nassau County Firefighters Museum & Education Center on Museum Row.
The dinner was for the Terry Farrell Firefighters Fund, named after for an FDNY firefighter and chief of the Dix Hills fire department who died in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Tickets were $250, with discounts for the fire departments.
East Meadow ex-chief Nelson H. Finkelman and Oyster Bay Fire Company ex-chief Edwin Rahilly were also honored.
Before the dinner, the museum hosted an education seminar for firefighters.
