Five people from one family - including three children - were killed Saturday morning when a blaze engulfed their apartment in Chelsea, officials said.
A 10-year-old boy was in very critical condition.
The blaze broke out around 5:30 a.m. in the kitchen of the sixth floor apartment at the Robert Fulton Houses on W. 18th St.
Firefighters found three dead in the bathroom - a 15-month-old girl under the sink and a 34-year-old woman with her 3-month-old baby in a tub full of water.
There were three more victims in the bedroom - a 40-year-old man and a 7-year-old girl who died and the 10-year-old survivor. All suffered smoke inhalation.
Witnesses said the victims were unconscious when firefighters brought them out.
"I saw the firemen taking out two young kids. They were extremely limp," said Phil Ng, 25, who lives on the second floor.
"The firemen were giving them CPR but that wasn't helping. The kids weren't breathing."
"The two kids looked young," said Rosa Perez, 79, who lives across the street.
"They weren't moving. The fireman yelled, 'We need CPR over here but they still wouldn't move.'"
The sole survivor was being transferred to Jacobi Medical Center for treatment in the hyberbaric chamber but officials said he was in very critical condition.
