1. UFA Scholarship Applications - Available 8/11
REMINDER: Applications and instructions for the UFA Scholarship Fund are still available on the UFA website: www.UFANYC.org. Deadline for submission is October 10, 2008.
2. Jeff Giordano (L-3) Memorial 5K Run
On Sunday, October 5th, 10am, the 7th Annual Jeff Giordano (L-3) Memorial 5K Run will be held at the Mount Loretto MIV Retreat Center at Hylan Blvd. & Cunningham Road, Staten Island, NY. Entry fee is $25. Proceeds benefit the FF Jeff Giordano Children's Playroom at the Cornell Burn Center. For info call L-3, 212-570-4303.
3. FDNY CSU LODD Monthly Meeting for Fathers & Brothers
Tuesday, October 7th from 12:30-2pm at 251 Lafayette St., 2nd floor conference room. Open to brothers who lost siblings in the line of duty and fathers who lost sons in the line of duty. 4. 5th Annual Blue Mass
On Sunday, October 12th, 1:30pm, at St. Peters Church in Manhattan (c/o of Barclay & Church St.). Come to honor all those who have given their lives in the line of duty and to all that continue to do the job day in and day out. 5. FF Michael Kiefer (L-132) Annual Doo Wop Memorial Fundraiser
On Sunday October 12th, 6pm, at Plattdeutsche Park Restaurant, on 1132 Hempstead Turnpike, Franklin Square, NY. Tickets: $100. Includes open bar, buffet dinner, desert, raffles, 50/50, T-shirt sale and more. Proceeds benefit the FDNY Fire Family Transport Foundation & the FDNY Firefighters Burn Center Foundation. 6. 2nd Annual NYC Fire Museum Cook-Off & Fundraiser
On Wednesday, October 15th, 6-9pm, at the New York City Fire Museum in Engine 30's old quarters in Soho. Admission: $50 for FF's, $60 in advance, $75 at the door. Admission includes food, drinks, 50/50, raffle, and great door prizes. Proceeds go toward restoring priceless FDNY treasures.
