Bronx Woman Saved from Brink of Death Thanks Those Who Saved Her

1010 Wins

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A Bronx woman held a news conference Monday to thank those who brought her back from the brink of death.

Ida Suarez, 58, is a mother of four and a grandmother of 14 living on dialysis. When she collapsed and stopped breathing on May 1, EMTs and members of FDNY Engine 63 responded with CPR and revived Suarez.

She suffered no serious effects from the stoppage of her heart which is unusual, authorities said. Suarez spent 11 days in the hospital.

A very grateful Suarez thanked each of the nine people who saved her life with hugs and kisses. "If it wasn't for you guys I wouldn't be here at all," said Suarez.
