Wedding-Bell-Hell

Wedding guests ran for their lives yesterday as a fire ripped through a ritzy West Village townhouse.

The top floor of the four-story brick building on Hudson Street between Horatio and Jane streets - which was once the scene for MTV's "Real World" - went up in flames at 5:30 p.m., witnesses said.

"I saw people racing down from the building dressed in tuxedos," said witness Victor Cino, 69. "People were just horrified. They couldn't believe it. The smoke was so thick."

The converted sausage factory, which reportedly rents for $7,000 to $9,000 a night for parties, was the home for Real World 10, which aired in July 2001.

Cino said he saw the guests "racing back and forth trying to figure out how to stop [the fire], but it happened so fast."

Flames shot out of the 1,400-square-foot roof deck, styled like a Japanese Zen temple, as about 60 firefighters rushed to battle the blaze.

"It went down like matchsticks," Cino said.

The fire, contained on the roof, was brought under control 40 minutes later. No one was injured.
