1. Safe Apparatus Response Training Session
REMINDER:Tuesday, February 26th, 1pm the UFA Health & Safety Office has arranged for a Safe Apparatus Response Training Session with FDNY Lt. Mike Wilbur at the Knights of Columbus, 3051 Nostrand Ave, (c/o Quentin Rd.), Brooklyn. Food & refreshments will be provided. A gift certificate for a FREE Body Scan at Inner Imaging will be given away to one participant at the end of the training session. 2. UFA-PBA Charity Contest to Benefit Widows & Children's Fund
REMINDER:Thursday, March 13th, 3pm at Connelly's Pub & Restaurant, 121 W. 45th St. (btwn. 6th & 7th Ave). The Tullamore Dew Co. will celebrate St. Patrick's Day by hosting a corned beef sandwich eating contest & private happy hour for 150 of New York City's POs & FFs. UFA needs 5 of the best “eaters” to compete. The winning team will receive a $10,000 donation to the Widows & Children's Fund. The charities will invite 150 (75 each) members to attend & enjoy the Tullamore Dew happy hour celebration following the competition (No liquor will be served during the competition). 3. 10th Annual Throggs Neck St. Patrick's Day Parade
Sunday, March 16th, 12 noon, beginning at the c/o E. Tremont & Lafayette Ave. All FDNY members invited to march in dress uniform. There will be a 9am Mass at St. Benedict's Church, 2969 Otis Avenue, followed by a 10am complimentary breakfast, served in Father Albert Hall. 4. Annual Palm Sunday Mass at Brooklyn Wall of Remembrance
March 16th, 2pm, Our Lady of Solace Shrine R.C. Church Mermaid Ave. & W. 17th St.- Coney Island. Members are requested to meet at The Brooklyn Wall of Remembrance one hour before and after Mass. 5. 4th Annual Best of the Bravest Golf Tournaments
Recruitment is taking place for both active and retired members interested in playing in handicap based tournaments across the tri-state area.
