Man, 61, Found Dead in NYC Apartment Fire

A man was killed early yesterday when fire tore through his SoHo apartment, officials said.

Fire officials said a 911 call at 2:07 a.m. brought firefighters to the home of Richard Seidel, 61, who lived alone in a third-floor apartment at ' Sullivan St.

Seidel was found dead. The fire was contained at 2:42 a.m. and did not spread to other apartments or cause other injuries.

Officials said the cause of the blaze is under investigation.
