Mighty Quinn

NY Daily News

Mighty predicted the city cops would "rough up" the firefighters in the recent "Battle of the Badges." So, who won? We'll let Bobby McGuire, boxing coach for the FDNY, explain:

"Well, well, well, what a surprise. The Great Mighty Quinn is wrong ... again.

"This just in from Brooklyn: FDNY BRAVEST BOXING 7, NYPD FIGHTING FINEST 5 at a sold-out Aviator Sports and Recreation at Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn. Two thousand fans were treated to a night of exciting amateur boxing, with some very competitive bouts; the FDNY pulled out a 7-5 victory in the 25th annual 'BATTLE OF THE BADGES.'

"The FD was led by winning efforts from 'Fearless' Felipe Irizarry, Matt (li'l Irish) Burke, D.J. Martin, Mike (The Bowery Bum) Reno and Kevin (The Killer) Kirrane.

"So, Mighty One, will it be mustard or ketchup on that crow? Your pal, Bobby McGuire."
