1. USO 1st Annual "Stuff the Square" Operation

2. 4th Annual Autism Move-a-Thon of Orange County
Sunday, October 7th, 2007, Thomas Bull Memorial Park in Montgomery, N.Y. The volunteer group raises money for families living with autism in Orange County and national autism groups. Registration begins at 9am and the one-mile walk kicks off at 11am. Afterwards, enjoy fun and food. 3. Columbus Day Parade
Monday, October 8, the FDNY Columbia Association participates in the annual celebration of Christopher Columbus. Off-duty members and their families are invited to march. The assembly point is W44th St & 5th Ave by 11am, parade starts at 12pm. Members are requested to attend in dress uniform. 4. The NYC Fire Museum Firehouse Tasting & Auction Fundraiser
Wednesday, October 24, 6-9pm, 278 Spring St. NY. Celebrating 20 years of FDNY's Museum. Enjoy food from FDNY chefs, music from John Clacher's Famous Firehouse Four, and prizes. 5. Lt. John Clancy & FF Jimmy O'Shea Memorial Scholarship Golf Outing
Thursday, October 25, Timber Point Golf Club Great Reiver, NY. $160 per golfer, $70 for reception only. Deposit of $100 per golfer due by Oct 1, balance must be paid by Oct 15. Includes food, drinks, prizes, and ten $1000 scholarships for FDNY family members that are students. All proceeds go directly to member's families. Make checks payable to: Lt. 6. BC Thomas DeAngelis Scholarship
The family and friends of Chief Thomas P. DeAngelis have established a scholarship in his memory. Applicants must be current full-time college students (minimum 12 credits) and children of an active duty FDNY Firefighter or Officer. Award: $500. Interested FF's who are parents should send name of the college, the child's name, age, grade level, academic major or area of interest to Mary Elizabeth Rohan, FDNY College Advisor, 401B Murray Avenue, Fort Totten, NY 11359 by Friday, October 26, 2007. Provide a separate nomination for each student in the family. FF'a who are parents of applying students should identify themselves including current work assignment, number of years on the job, both home and work address with telephone, e-mail and fax if available. Send letter of nomination (through the bag) or email rohanm@fdny.nyc.gov. Winning student will be required to provide an official document from the college registrar verifying full-time enrollment.
