Pals Gather for Fallen Fireman

NY Post

Fallen firefighter Joseph Graffagnino was remembered at a Brooklyn fund-raiser yesterday as a hero.

Graffagnino and fellow firefighter Robert Beddia died Aug. 18 in the former Deutsche Bank building, which had been damaged on 9/11.

Hundreds gathered at the Salty Dog, a bar in Bay Ridge where Graffagnino once worked, and raised $30,000 for his wife and two kids. A broken standpipe left the two firefighters without any water to combat the blaze.

"We just want answers," said Joseph Graffagnino Sr. "We want to know what happened that day."
