A hearing impaired woman was killed in a fire in the Williamsbridge section of the Bronx this morning.

Eyewitness News is told the 22-year-old victim was trapped inside her burning home at 643 East 224th Street just after 12:15 a.m.

Neighbors rushed into the burning home, but were turned away by the heavy fire and smoke.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials say two other residents of the home were treated for injuries. They were given oxygen at the scene before being rushed to Jacobi Medical Center.

Three firefighters were also treated for minor injuries.

Fire marshals spent much of the morning searching the charred house for clues. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
