Firefighters are on the scene of a high rise fire in Midtown.
Eyewitness news reporter Nina Pineda is live in Midtown with the latest.

The fire started on the 22th floor of the Crown building at 5th Avenue and 56th Street and the flames were incredibly intense.

Paramedics and EMS set up right in front of the building to treat firefighters for smoke inhalation. Some of them were covered in ash as they came out of the building.

One woman said that the whole floor was consumed in flames. Two firefighters were transported to area hospitals and several more were treated on the scene.

Tourist: "Suddenly I saw a bit of black coming out of one of the windows and I saw a lot of a flames coming out of the window and the window burst, and more flames came out."

We understand that everybody got out that was in the office complex, but the cause of the blaze is still unknown.
