FDNY Rescues Construction Worker from Shaft

(1010 WINS) (NEW YORK) New York City firefighters rescued a construction worker out of a 100-foot shaft in Tribeca Thursday night.

Officials said the man was trapped between a piece of equipment and the side of the shaft. The man's legs were crushed in the accident.

FDNY's Rescue One responded to the incident on Hudson Street and lowered personnel into the shaft to rescue the injured worker.

The worker was transported to Saint Vincent's Hospital.
