(1010 WINS)NEW YORKAn early morning fire in a six story Manahattan apartment building has killed at least one person. The fire is on Amsterdam Avenue at 107th Street. Tenants reported that fire alarms began going off around three this morning.

Many tenants had to escape on the fire escapes alongside the building because of too much smoke and fire in the hallway. The fire department says six other have been injured.

The cause of the fire is not immediately known.
