(1010 WINS)NEW YORK New York City Firefighters are expected at City Hall today to support Department Chief Peter Hayden when he testifies that the Fire Department should share command at the worst emergencies.

Last month, Mayor Michael Bloomberg gave an executive order that the Police Department should have sole command at all emergency scenes.

But a City Hall hearing is scheduled for later today in which Hayden will tell the Bloomberg administration that fire commanders should have joint command with police at emergencies.

He has said that any incident with the magnitude of a hazardous material incident, for example, could be terror-related. He called failing to share command ``a recipe for disaster.''

Hayden was in the North Tower of the World Trade Center just after the September Eleventh terrorist attacks. He said that many deaths could have been avoided if command was shared that day.
