NY 1

by null

A downtown office building was partially evacuated Wednesday after a fire broke out.

The problem began on the 14th floor of 250 Broadway, a building where many City Council members have their offices.

Smoke filled the 14th and the 15th floors. Both floors were evacuated.

Firefighters arrived at the 31-story building just before 3 p.m.

They were able to bring the fire under control in 15 minutes.

No injuries have been reported and so far there's no word on what caused the blaze.
