An FDNY firefighter fell from a ladder while battling a blaze at a marijuana growhouse in The Bronx on Sunday night, according to officials.

The smoke-eater was transported to Jacobi Medical Center in serious but stable condition. Officials said he fell 30 feet to the pavement below, injuring his leg and back.

“He’s a very lucky individual,” said FDNY commissioner Daniel Nigro at a press conference, describing the firefighter as a 38-year old married, father of three with 12 years on the job.

“He is stable right now. He is conscious.”

The individual was attempting to get onto a roof during an all-hands call at 1656 Mayflower Ave in Pelham Bay when he “apparently lost his footing,” Nigro said.

A fire had broken out on the 3rd floor of the three story residence at around 8:20 p.m., according to FDNY sources.

Officials confirmed during the press conference that the building was being used as a grow house. It’s unclear if anyone was inside at the the time.

“[The fire] is under investigation right now,” Nigro explained. “We do not yet have the cause. But I’m certain we will have a cause very soon as our fire marshals complete their investigation. So, I’d say once again — this firefighter had quite a fall. And although he has serious injuries, we’re very happy that he survived.”
