Hamilton Heights 2-Alarm Fire Injures 2 Firefighters, FDNY Says

HAMILTON HEIGHTS, NY — Two firefighters were hurt Tuesday night while battling a 2-alarm blaze in the Hamilton Heights section of Harlem, an FDNY spokesman said.

The fire broke out on the fourth and fifth floors of 684 Riverside Drive, a six-story building located near West 146th Street, around 6:30 p.m., an FDNY spokesman said. The blaze prompted a two-alarm response, meaning 25 fire units with more than 106 firefighters responded to the scene.

Firefighters placed the fire under control shortly after 7:15 p.m., an FNDY spokesman said. The two firefighters who were hurt suffered minor injuries and were taken to St. Luke's hospital for treatment, the spokesman said.
