Early Morning Inferno at a 'Vacant' Flushing Home Injures 10 Firefighters: FDNY

Flushing home that broke out early on Monday morning left 12 people injured, authorities said.

According to the FDNY, a call came in regarding a fire at 147-09 41st Ave. after 2 a.m. on June 4. Authorities said that 25 units and 106 firefighters were deployed and sent to the scene.

The fire was brought under control at 4:03 a.m. Two civilians had managed to escape the building and were transported to Cornell Medical Center with serious injuries.

Ten firefighters suffered minor injuries and were brought to local hospitals for treatment.

At this time, the cause of the fire is unknown and under investigation. ABC7 reported that the building had been vacant.
