Flushing House Fire Injures 12

A fire in the early hours Monday morning at a Flushing house injured two civilians and 10 firefighters, according to the FDNY.

Breaking out at 147-09 41 Ave. around 2 a.m., the blaze was under control at 4 a.m., the agency said. Two civilians at the house were seriously injured and hospitalized.

Ten firefighters suffered minor injuries and also were hospitalized.

The Department of Buildings had determined the house to be vacant. According to published reports, the two civilians hurt by the blaze were squatters.

Officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
