FDNY Responded to Fire in New Dorp Beach on Tuesday

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- A person was injured in a house fire in New Dorp Beach early on Tuesday morning.

About 60 firefighters and 12 units responded to the "all-hands" basement fire called at 12:54 a.m. at 35 Seafoam St., according to a spokesman for the FDNY/EMS.

A civilian with minor injuries was transported to Staten Island University Hospital in Ocean Breeze, according to the spokesman.

The fire was brought under control in about a half hour, at 1:23 a.m., the spokesman said.
