QUEENS VILLAGE, QUEENS -- A person is in critical condition after being run down by an MTA bus and pinned beneath it on Wednesday afternoon in Queens Village, FDNY officials said.
The unidentified pedestrian was struck by a Q36 bus near Jamaica Avenue and Springfield Boulevard at around 2:45 p.m. The pedestrian was trapped underneath the bus for minutes before firefighters were able to rescue him or her, fire officials told Patch.
The pedestrian was pulled out from under the vehicle by the time police arrived on the scene at 3 p.m. and is en route to Jamaica Hospital in critical condition, an FDNY spokesman said.
An NYPD spokesman could not confirm what cause the crash or whether anyone was arrested.
