MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — The FDNY battled a fire underneath a train platform at Penn Station Wednesday morning, an FDNY spokesman said.
The fire broke out under the Amtrak platform near tracks 13 and 14 of the transportation hub, an FDNY spokesman said. The fire department responded to the call around 10 a.m., the FDNY spokesman said.
The fire was brought under control around 11:45 a.m., fire officials said. The tracks were shut down as firefighters operated at the scene, fire officials said.
No injuries were reported during the fire, an FDNY spokesman said.
