Bronx Fire Burns on Apartment Roof Wednesday Morning

Two firefighters suffered minor injuries fighting the blaze.

BRONX, NY — Firefighters rushed to the scene of a fire on the roof of an apartment building in the Bronx on Wednesday morning, authorities said.

The fire on the top of the six-story apartment building sent smoke pouring into the sky as the sun was rising on the city. The building is on Walton Avenue in the Mt. Hope section of the borough.

Firefighters were still on scene around 8:40 a.m. More than 200 responded, according to ABC7, and two suffered minor injuries. The fire was declared under control at 8:45 a.m.
