STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Two firefighters suffered minor injuries in a residential blaze on Wednesday morning in Port Richmond, according to the FDNY.

The fire was called at 5:50 a.m. at 218 Treadwell Ave. and brought under control at 6:23 a.m., according to a spokeswoman for the FDNY.

The firefighters were taken to Richmond University Medical Center in West Brighton.

The blaze that prompted an "all-hands" response of about 12 units and 60 members appears to have started on the second floor, the spokeswoman said.
