Early-Morning Fire Started in Basement of New Brighton Home

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- The FDNY is fighting a house fire in New Brighton on Tuesday morning.

About 12 units and 60 members are battling the "all-hands" fire that was called at 6:25 a.m. in the basement of a two-story, about 20-by-40 foot residence at 25 Trumbull Place, according to a spokeswoman for the FDNY/EMS.

Brighton Avenue is blocked at Glen Avenue during the emergency response.

No one was injured in the fire that was brought under control at 6:58 a.m.
