FDNY Fights House Fire in Grant City

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- The FDNY fought a house fire in Grant City for about an hour early on Monday morning.

About a dozen units and 60 firefighters responded to the fire that was called at 2:19 a.m. in the basement of a two-story home at 79 Greeley Ave., according to a spokesman for the FDNY/EMS.

The "all-hands" blaze was brought under control at 3:11 a.m., the FDNY spokesman said.
