Bronx-WABC — An overnight fire in the Bronx where at least one person has died and firefighters struggle with icy weather conditions.

Eyewitness News Reporter Lisa Colagrossi is joining us now from the Williams Bridge Section with more on the story.

This fire happened in apartment 2A at 3437 Corsa Avenue.

Firefighters were hampered when they got to the fire. The streets are completely iced over. They also had problems when they ran into two frozen hydrants so they had to run the lines more than a block to find a working hydrant.

The streets around the area are absolute ice. It is very slippery, and very bad conditions for the firefighters to be working in.

Right now, we know that a couple of firefighters were treated at the scene for injuries. We re not sure exactly what happened to them.

One man is dead. We are trying to get some more information from the firefighters here on the scene. They said this is some of the worst conditions in terms of ice that they had to deal with this winter.
