FEMA Assistance for FDNY Employees

The Department has arranged for representatives from FEMA and the Small Business Administration (SBA) to provide information to members who were affected by Hurricane Sandy. These representatives will provide guidance and status updates on individual cases and/or provide referrals to other agencies regarding the following:

• FEMA Disaster Assistance
• The Individual and Household Program
• Homeowner and Small Business Loans from the SBA
• Flood Insurance

When: December 5th, 6th, and 7th between 9am - 1pm

On the UFA homepage there are a variety of forms that members impacted by Sandy should be filling out and submitting to the respective organizations:

• IAFF Assistance Form: is for Active UFA/UFOA members (eligible members may receive $500.)

• FDNY Assistance Form: based on the severity of damage/losses to your home, eligible members may receive financial assistance. Phone: (718) 999-7000.

• Friends of Firefighters (FOF) Form: FOF has been helping with cleanups, supplying members with tools, water, cleaning supplies and other items. Members can also volunteer to help FOF online at www.friendsoffirefighters.org. Phone: (718) 643-0980. Fax: (718) 643-1240
