Associated Press - June 21, 2012Associated Press 6/21/12 NEW YORK -- New York City fire marshals have arrested a 29-year-old Norwegian tourist on charges he set fires in a Manhattan hotel.
Tore Brox was arrested on charges of arson and reckless endangerment. The FDNY says he is accused of setting two fires on Tuesday at the New Yorker Hotel near Manhattan's Penn Station. The blazes were reported at 4:50 a.m. on the 20th floor. One fire had been set on the east wing hallway, the other in a housekeeping cart at the other end.
Firefighters quickly put out the fires. Marshals say that Brox, on vacation in Manhattan, set the fires and was later taken as a fire victim to a hospital before he fled the scene.
It's not clear if the tourist has an attorney. He has not been arraigned.
