1. Fundraiser for Little Bobby's Battle (Nephew of Matt Genovese, E-4)
REMINDER: On Saturday March 31st from 3-7pm at Mulcahy's in Wantagh located at 3232 Railroad Ave. a fundraiser will be held for Bobby Genovese, nephew of Matt Genovese (E-4). Little Bobby is only 2 years old and was recently diagnosed with stage 3 liver cancer. He is undergoing chemotherapy and will need a liver transplant. 2. Colin Flood Bone Marrow Drive
REMINDER: On Saturday, March 31st from 9am to 4pm at Our Lady of Good Counsel School located at 42 Austin Place Staten Island, NY 10304 a bone marrow drive will be held for 6-year old Colin Flood, son of Ret. FF Kevin Flood (E-210). Colin has been diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia and has been undergoing chemotherapy. His best chance of survival lies in receiving a bone marrow transplant. 3. FF Ray Pfeifer (E-40) Fundraiser
REMINDER: On Saturday, March 31st from 2-8pm at East Meadow Fireman's Benevolent Association located at 170 Maple Ave, East Meadow NY 11554 a fundraiser will be held for FF Ray Pfeifer (E-40). Ray was deeply committed to the recovery effort at Ground Zero and now he is battling a tenacious form of cancer. Turn out and help Ray and his family offset the heavy cost of his cancer treatments. 4. FF Michael Schroeter (E-97) Memorial Football Game Fundraiser
On Friday, April 13th at 6pm at the Mitchel Athletic Complex located at 1 Charles Lindbergh Blvd. in Uniondale, NY 11553 the FDNY Bravest Football Club will take on the Washington D.C. General in a game to honor the memory of FF Michael Schroeter and his family. FF Mike Schroeter died in a tragic skiing accident. He leaves behind a wife and a 2 year old son. He was a member of the Bravest Football Club. Tickets: $10 per person. Children under 12: FREE. There will be a pre-game ceremony and half the proceeds from the game will go to Mike's son. 5. NYC Marathon
As per Dept Order #17 any member interested in running the 2011 NYC Marathon must apply by April 23rd. Members can apply online at www.nyrr.org.
