CONTRACT UPDATE In light of DC-37's tentative contract agreement, there will be minimal movement by the uniformed coalition until the civilian unions either accept or reject their deal, which is expected around mid May. The 9.87% package covers 27 months, with 4% wage increases for each of the first two years and 1% at the end for a 3 month extension. There is also a NO Layoff Guarantee. This deal will NOT be accepted by the uniformed coalition. Back To Top “14 WEEK†PROBIES NOT BEING PAID CFR-D DIFFERENTIAL The group of probies who are in the field for 14 weeks before completion at the training academy are not being paid any CFR-D differential. They have their CFR-D or EMT certification prior to swearing in, but the FDNY is holding their CFR-D refresher for the 3 week return to probie school. The administration doesn’t feel these members are qualified until after the Department tests and certifies them on the FDNY’s defibrillators and latest curriculum updates. We disagree. While the UFA seeks to resolve this issue, we ask that these probies do not perform any CFR-D functions. Please assist with protecting these firefighters in the field.
