Contacting the UFA

The UFA office will be open during regular office hours with one Executive Board member staffing the Trustee desk. All regular union business has been canceled or is on hold. There are NO meetings scheduled. Hold any telephone inquiries to EMERGENCIES ONLY. All Board Members are actively participating in rescue and recovery operations. There are many details to be worked out with families and units throughout the City and beyond. It is our opinion that there should be no planning of collations while members are still unaccounted for. There is still much work ahead that will require the enormous effort of our entire membership. Priorities must remain rescue, recovery, and dealing with the families of members.

For after office hours, the answering service has been directed to only forward emergency calls. While working shifts around the clock, it will not be possible for the UFA Board to deal with general inquiries or regular union business. Our Security Benefit Fund (SBF) will be working as normal and efficient as possible. Our UFA clerical staff will handle as much as possible but be aware that the switchboard is ringing non-stop. Keep all calls limited to EMERGENCIES ONLY.

The UFA is calling upon all Company Delegates to take an active roll in assisting the UFA and FDNY with coordinating any family help and details surrounding firefighter funeral services after official notification.
