A retired fire marshal who was among the city's first firefighters to respond to Ground Zero on 9/11 succumbed yesterday to esophageal cancer. He was 58.

Steven Mosiello, also a Vietnam and Air Force vet, retired in 2002 after 23 years with the FDNY.

Esophageal cancer has been linked to exposure to Ground Zero dust.
