A fire broke out in a Rikers Island jail unit last night, forcing corrections officers to relocate 241 inmates to cells in other buildings.

by DANIEL EDWARD ROSENA fire broke out in a Rikers Island jail unit last night, forcing corrections officers to relocate 241 inmates to cells in other buildings.
The blaze started in an air-conditioning room on the second floor of the George Motchan Detention Center at 8:13 p.m.
No officers or inmates were hurt, but four firefighters suffered minor injuries, authorities said.
