Back To Top Status Of 90-Day Manpower Details Chief Joseph Ramos informed us that there is no rigid guideline for ending these voluntary details. He would like to thank those members who stepped up for these details. At the completion of this 90 day period, it will be up to the firefighter whether he/she wants to remain on the detail or return to his regular assignment. Just let the authorities know so that manpower levels can be anticipated. Back To Top Don’t Be Cheated Out Of Awaiting-Relief $ Please review the Delegate Manual - Section White 16, the bottom of page 3 through page 4. These paragraphs address some of the possible problems you may encounter. Also review Section Blue 14, the first three items on page one. Currently, I’ve received a few complaints about some officers or chiefs not allowing awaiting relief for a firefighter under certain conditions. Every denial I was informed about thus far was improper! ANY time that a firefighter must await the 4th or 5th member’s arrival, he/she is entitled to awaiting relief compensation pay. Waiting for a Roster Staffing overtime member does NOT negate your entitlement. Waiting for a member who was called in from home for overtime does NOT negate your entitlement. Never take NO for an answer to an awaiting relief TPR mark without first speaking to your borough trustee or to Bill Mirro. A rare exception to the rule may arise, but that will be for us to advise you on. Back To Top Family Liaison Support Group The Counseling Service Unit invites you to participate in a group discussion for family liaisons. Group will begin on the following dates: Monday, January 7th at 10 a.m. and Thursday, January 10th at 7 p.m. CSU, 251 Lafayette Street, 3rd floor (between Prince and Spring). If these dates, times, or locations do not work for you but you are interested in attending a group, please call so we can schedule an alternative. The group will offer you an opportunity to discuss your experiences with others who have been in the same position. What you say can be helpful to others and what you hear may be helpful to you. All groups will last 90 minutes and are open to all family liaisons. Please call Liza at (212) 570-1693 to confirm which date you will attend. Contact John Marchini or Phil Duncan at (212) 570-1693 with any questions. There will be an opportunity after the group for you to tell us how we can be of further service to you.
