St. Albans Basement Catches Fire

NY 1 - April 21, 2011

Three people and one firefighter were injured after flames rip through a house in St. Albans, Queens on Wednesday morning.

The fire started in a basement at a house on Sullivan Road.

A young woman who lives in the home said she woke up due to the smoke and exited through the roof.

Three of her family members were taken to the hospital. One was seriously injured.

A firefighter was also taken to the hospital with minor injures.

Investigators are looking into the cause of the fire.
