Crews Battle Three-Alarm Queens Fire

NY 1 - April 02, 2011

Nearly 150 firefighters responded Friday to a three-alarm fire near Citi Field in Queens.

The New York City Fire Department says the fire started just before 5:30 p.m. on the second floor of a two-story building located at 126-12 34th Avenue in Willets Point.

The building, which houses Sotos Stone, is part of an eminent domain dispute with the city.

The blaze sent smoke spewing around the neighborhood and nearby highways.

No injuries were reported.

The cause is under investigation.
