MLC Health Benefits Agreement Last Thursday the Municipal Labor Committee, which negotiates health care benefits on behalf of all City unions, reached a tentative agreement with the City to maintain the hospital & medical benefit programs. The funds generated from this agreement will flow into the Stabilization Reserve Fund, which pays for the PICA drug programs and other benefits to union members throughout the City. The ratification vote will take place soon. More specific details about this agreement, how it was reached and how it will affect our members will be sent to the membership as soon as possible. Blood & Marrow: Life Changing Holiday Gift On Friday, December 26, NYC Firefighters from Putnam &Northern Westchester will be hosting a Blood Drive / Bone Marrow Registry. Because of the Christmas holidays the blood supply is low and the demand is high. The Bone Marrow Registry, is in part, because of a need for a bone Marrow Transplant for a member in the community.
